What would it be like to finally feel seen by a healthcare provider? Tapestry 360 Health’s patients know. In this client story, patients and staff share how that happens, while longtime partner Impact keeps the technology running quietly so their focus can stay on care.
"Who says they have fun coming to the doctor?" one patient asks with a laugh, and the rest of the film answers that question. Chief Medical Officer Courtney Mapes wants people to stop seeing Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) as a lesser option. The care they deliver, she says, "should be what anybody would want when they go to the doctor." That care reaches well past the exam room. "We want to see the whole person," Nicole says, which can mean a referral to a food pantry, help with housing, or time with a social worker. Each of those hand-offs depends on patient information being secure and ready the moment it's needed. With Impact keeping that running, Tapestry's staff can keep their attention on the person in front of them. Director of Wellness Amanda Montgomery traces the group medical visit program back to one provider's pain clinic. Today it includes acupuncture, cooking and nutrition classes, diabetes education, and grief support. Many patients leave a group session and go get coffee together.

"It's hard to not sound like they are too good to be true."

Patient at Tapestry 360 Health
Miles-long trips to offices that wouldn't see them without an appointment. Clinics that were nearly impossible to get into. Providers who ended the conversation when they couldn't pay. Then they found Tapestry. For Jade, a mother who always put her family's health first, it clicked right away. "This is where I should be. This is where I want to be," said Jade, a patient at Tapestry 360 Health. CEO Nicole Willis describes care that runs from birth to end of life, "and then we do everything in between." The team serves patients in 86 different languages, meeting each one where they are.

Nicole is candid about what patients never see: the grant applications, "the 15-hour days and the 4:30 am emails." Her goal is to keep the patient at the center. "We're never turning a patient away," she says. Behind every referral, wellness class, and late-night email are systems that simply have to work. With Impact as a long-standing partner, Tapestry doesn't worry about whether they will. That leaves the team free to focus on what patients in the film call top-tier care. That's the quiet role healthcare IT support should play for a mission-driven organization: present in every appointment, visible in none.

"When we stand behind community health centers, we're truly standing behind healthy communities."

Chief Operating Officer, Tapestry 360 Health
This film belongs to the people of Tapestry 360 Health. It was an honor to tell their story, and we hope it helps them share their work with donors, partners, and the neighbors they serve. Jade calls her experience at Tapestry "everlasting reassurance and everlasting advocacy." For the Impact team members who support Tapestry behind the scenes, there's no better reminder of why that work matters.
