Marketing Sales Development Representative

Description

Built on service. Powered by people.

Impact exists because a small group of industry leaders believed companies in our space were doing it wrong. Many prioritized margins while the people doing the work and the clients relying on it became an afterthought. Impact was built differently: invest in great people, trust them to do great work, and deliver the kind of service clients remember. That approach helped us grow from a small office technology company into a national managed services provider, while remaining privately owned and people-first.

What makes Impact special is that growth has never come at the expense of the values that got us here. We continue to reinvest in our people, our capabilities, and the opportunities ahead so employees can grow alongside the business. We’ve built something special, but we’re far from finished. The people who join Impact now will help define what comes next.

Job Overview

The Managed Marketing Sales Development Representative is an entry-level, 100% outbound sales role responsible for generating interest, qualifying prospects, and creating new opportunities for Impact’s Managed Marketing services. There is no inbound safety net — this role is built on cold calling, cold email, and cold social outreach, backed by thoughtful prospect research and early-stage conversations with businesses that may benefit from outsourced marketing support, digital strategy, creative services, website solutions, and ongoing campaign execution. This is a foundational hire on Impact’s Managed Marketing growth team, reporting directly to the President and working side-by-side with the Executive Marketing Consultant (EMC) to hand off every qualified meeting. The ideal candidate is highly coachable, resilient in the face of rejection, and motivated by a clear, activity-based goal: book 15 qualified meetings every month, without exception.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and qualify new business opportunities for Impact’s Managed Marketing services through 100% outbound cold calling, cold email, social outreach, and sales engagement platforms — every conversation starts cold
  • Research target accounts to identify companies that may need support with marketing strategy, digital presence, campaign execution, creative services, or lead generation
  • Initiate conversations with marketing, sales, and business leaders to understand potential needs and determine fit for Managed Marketing solutions
  • Consistently book 15 qualified meetings per month — this is the core metric this role is measured against
  • Conduct initial discovery conversations to uncover business priorities, current marketing challenges, and areas where Impact may be able to help
  • Hand off every qualified meeting directly to the Executive Marketing Consultant (EMC) with clean notes and context for a seamless transition into the sales process
  • Maintain accurate and timely activity, notes, lead status, and follow-ups within the CRM system
  • Work directly with the President on call reviews, messaging refinement, and hands-on coaching — this role is built on fast, direct feedback and rapid skill development

Qualifications & Experience

  • Highly coachable — takes feedback well, applies it immediately without ego, and improves fast in a high-repetition training environment; this matters more to us than prior experience
  • 0–2 years of experience in sales, customer service, marketing, business development, or another client-facing role
  • Interest in building a career in sales, marketing services, or business development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be clear, professional, and persistent in outreach
  • Genuine resilience — comfortable with high-volume cold outreach, frequent rejection, and daily activity goals; treats every “no” as data, not a verdict
  • Ability to research companies, identify potential business needs, and ask thoughtful discovery questions
  • Familiarity with digital marketing, websites, branding, content, paid media, SEO, or lead generation is helpful but not required
  • Experience using CRM systems, sales engagement platforms, or prospecting tools is a plus
  • Self-motivated, organized, and eager to grow within a fast-paced sales environment
