Overview

The Art Director / Motion Graphics Designer is a dual creative role within Impact’s Managed Marketing division, built for someone whose identity is rooted in craft. You are equally comfortable shaping a brand identity as you are animating a campaign or editing a client video — and you bring strong conceptual thinking to everything you touch. This role spans visual design, motion graphics, video post-production, and campaign concept development across digital, print, social, and brand formats for mid-market clients.

Creative integrity comes first. Strong ideas, sharp visual storytelling, and command of your craft are what make this role work. AI is a significant and growing part of how we execute — from ideation and asset generation to motion assistance and production efficiency — and we are actively building AI into every part of the creative workflow. The right person is energized by that, not deterred by it. You should be someone who is already experimenting with AI creative tools because you see them as a way to push your craft further and faster, and you want to help shape how human + AI collaboration works in a creative team as those capabilities evolve.

You will collaborate closely with the Creative Director, copywriters, strategists, marketing managers, and the broader Digital Experience team to deliver work that connects creative storytelling to client business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Concept and execute creative work across campaign ideas, brand identities, and marketing materials spanning digital, print, social, and video — using AI-augmented workflows for ideation, asset generation, and production where they accelerate output without compromising craft or originality.
  • Produce and deliver motion graphics and video content across formats including social and digital ads, animated brand assets, brand films, and case study pieces — primarily through post-production (editing, animation, effects) with on-set production involvement as needed.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client businesses and translate that into creative work that differentiates them in the market, presenting concepts and justifying design decisions by tying them back to business goals.
  • Own projects from concept through completion, managing timelines and quality standards across multiple concurrent client engagements while coordinating with cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, strategists, account managers, and channel specialists to develop cohesive creative outcomes that support integrated campaign strategies across paid, content, UX, and email channels.
  • Continuously integrate AI-powered tools into your creative process — experimenting with emerging capabilities for ideation, asset generation, motion assistance, and production efficiency — and help define how the creative team adopts AI as workflows evolve.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience with a portfolio demonstrating strong design and conceptual capabilities, brand storytelling, and motion graphics or video work across multiple formats and channels.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
  • Strong conceptual thinker who can move fluidly between static design, motion, and video — a true hybrid creative, not a specialist in just one.
  • Ability to present creative work clearly and tie design decisions back to client business objectives.
  • Genuine curiosity and familiarity with AI creative tools (Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Higgsfield, or similar) and a habit of experimenting with them. You see AI as something that expands what you can make, not something that replaces how you think.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Collaborative, low-ego communicator able to work effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
