In this HR AI case study, we’ll look at how an AI assistant helped our HR team keep up with increasing demands, allowing them to focus on more strategic responsibilities.
We identified a need to streamline HR processes, particularly in handling repetitive questions about policies and benefits. By building and implementing H. Artie, an AI-powered assistant, we transformed our HR operations, allowing the team to focus on higher-value work.

The Problem
Our HR team of three people for a nearly 1,000-person company was inundated with repetitive questions regarding policies and benefits—information that was already documented but not easily accessible. For example, how PTO works, how to access insurance benefits, questions about paperwork, or other questions that could be answered by scouring the employee handbook.
Answering the same inquiries repeatedly consumed a lot of valuable time that could have been better spent on complex HR tasks, such as resolving more pressing employee concerns or ideating and implementing initiatives that improve workplace culture.
Impact desperately needed a solution that would provide instant, accurate responses to routine HR questions, freeing up our team for more meaningful work.
The Solution
To address these challenges, Impact created and implemented H. Artie, an AI-driven HR assistant designed to provide employees with instant answers to the most asked HR-related questions.
H. Artie operates 24/7, ensuring employees have immediate access to information about policies, benefits, and HR procedures without requiring direct intervention from the HR team.
The Results
The adoption of H. Artie significantly improved efficiency within Impact’s HR department, saving them 1,500 hours a year which they can now assign to more meaningful and fulfilling work.
One hurdle we knew we’d have to jump is gaining employee trust, meaning the new AI bot had to be accurate, helpful, and friendly immediately or risk people brushing it off as a broken tool. Our dedicated AI team worked to develop a bot that not only had all the right answers, but which could be joked with and talked to in order to build a friendly rapport.
The results showed that we accomplished that goal:
- 92% of users rating H. Artie as a 4 or 5 (out of 5) for friendliness
- 85% of users indicating that H. Artie met their expectations as an HR assistant
- 90% of users rating their likelihood of using H. Artie again as 4 or 5 (out of 5)
