3 for 3 Video Series – Episode 1 – DeWayne Peevy
Join legendary sportscaster Dick Stockton as he hosts the very first in our year-long series, 3 for 3, which will look at the careers and accomplishments behind 12 figures who have forged their professional journeys through sports.
Our first guest on the series is DeWayne Peevy, Director of Athletics at DePaul University. Peevy spent 12 years at Kentucky University, serving his last six years there as Deputy Athletics Director.
In his time as an athletics director, Peevy made a name for himself as an effective fundraiser, strategist and media coordinator. His efforts led to the establishment of the CBS Sports Classic in 2014, which has since had its contract extended through 2022.
His fundraising for UK stemmed from his involvement in the K Fund, its development department, for which he secured $17 million of funding for a new football training center.
Peevy’s long and varied career in athletics management and direction has earned him a well-earned reputation as one of the most dynamic and creatively minded people in collegiate athletics.
In this video, Dick Stockton sits down with Peevy and Impact’s Chief Diversity Officer Bill Jacobs to discuss his life and career and what it means for someone to in the increasingly tech-driven world of athletics.
