Joining Dick Stockton, legendary sportscaster, and Bill Jacobs, Impact’s Chief Diversity Officer, is Sharon McBride, current president of the South Bend, Indiana City Council and Director of the St. Joseph County Community Corrections DuComb Center.

Born and raised in South Bend, McBride has spent her career focusing on helping her community. She started as a teacher and basketball coach helping students learn and become the best they can be. Now, at the DuComb Center, she helps offenders transition back into their communities with innovative corrections programs and alternatives.
In 2018, she was elected onto the South Bend City Council and in 2022 she was chosen as its president.
No matter where she’s been or what titles she’s had, McBride’s focus has always been on improving the lives of the people of South Bend. In 2014 she received the Martin Luther King Foundation of St. Joseph County Community Service Award for her efforts and she continues to push forward, finding new ways to help community with new programs, city ordinances, and more.
